Catskill 3500: Giant Ledge and Panther
This hike goes through the region’s most popular wilderness area. It traverses the scenic cliffs of an ancient meteorite-impact zone.
Giant Ledge is named for its five ledges. The ledges open up onto beautiful views of the Catskill Mountains. And at the summit of Panther you will see the culminating, epic view. This hike is a great introduction to the Catskills. It’s an ‘easier’ hike compared to other 3500 peaks. And the views are spectacular! We might even catch the tail-end of fall foliage!
Panther is a required peak for Catskill 3500 Club Membership and #17 Catskill Tall Peak (elevation 3,726′).
