Catskill 3500: Kaaterskill High Peak
Kaaterskill High Peak was a frequent subject of works by the Hudson River School artists in the 19th century, and these paintings are still displayed in some of the world’s most famous museums.
Today, we’ll cross over several footbridges while hiking deep into this beautiful area of the Catskill Mountains. In order to reach the summit we’ll scramble up the mountain’s steep and challenging unmarked trail. If we’re lucky, we’ll locate two plane crashes! But we’ll need to be careful, because, as you will hear in tales from your guide, this area of the Catskills is haunted…
This is a required peak for Catskill 3500 Club Membership and #22 Catskill Tall Peak (elevation 3,653’).
