‘Strawberry’ Hike
Join us on a trail called a ‘gem’ by the Poughkeepsie Journal. This hike was nicknamed the ‘strawberry’ hike by one of our AU adventurers, because she has always gotten strawberries at the farm after this hike.
Today, we’ll be taking the road less traveled as we explore a section of Minnewaska State Park. The Mossy Glen Trail runs through white pine, rhododendron, mountain laurel, and hemlock. Almost the entire length of the trail winds along the bubbling Peters Kill. This hike will take you over carriage roads, hiking trails, bridges over creeks, and great slabs of rock. We’ll end our day with a stop at a local farm where you’ll be able to pick up fresh fruit and berries. There will also be plenty of other produce and baked goods calling your name!
